FA Cup to kick off today

New Radiant celebrating with last year's FA cup champion trophy

Male', MALDIVES - Medianet would play against FC Baaz in the opening match of one of the most key tournaments of the season - FA Cup today in Henvieru Ground. A total of 21 teams would participate in the tournament this year and the winner gets an automatic qualification to the regional tournament, AFC Cup.

The first and the second round of the tournament are scheduled to play in Henveiru Ground, while the rest of the matches are to be played in National stadium. The six first division clubs gets an automatic qualification to the quarterfinals where they are seeded in two groups.

New Radiant, Victory and Maziya are in seeded in one group and Vyansa, VB and Valencia in the other group.

New Radiant is the defending champions of FA Cup. They have won the tournament 10 times.
